I’ve faced many failures and challenges on my journey as an individual, developer and entrepreneur.

Here are some of the checkpoints along the way.

High School

Failure to get into NIT despite of good rank in JEE Mains and 2 years of preparation from Allen institute

JEE Mains 2019

I had 95.5 percentile in JEE Mains 2019, with a rank around ~50k, but because of percentage criteria of state board (75% or 80 percentile) I was not eligible for JOSAA counselling which is the only way to get into NIT. And I was not able to get into any other good college too because it either required good JEE Mains rank + 75% in state board or good state board rank which I didn't have.

God's plan is better than our plan

I was very disappointed after not getting into NIT, so I decided to get admission in any branch and any college and I got admission in 3rd tier government college in Electrical Engineering branch. I was not happy with the branch and college but next year our world got unforseen by COVID-19 and I got a chance to recreate my career during the pandemic time started in 2020. I utilized that time to learn programming and build my career in software development with online courses and self learning.

Work

Got a job in a Zopte Technologies

Kickstart of my career

I was attending online courses and learning programming and after having enough confidence I was participating into various competitions and one of those competition was an opportunity where the two students will get a chance to work in a startup. I was one of the two students who got selected and I started working in a Zopte Technologies as a software developer intern.

Opportunity to work directly with CEO/Founder

We were a small team of 5 developers and we were working directly with the CEO/Founder of the company who was an alumni of IIT Bombay and he was a very good mentor and guide for me. I learned a lot from him and I was able to work on various projects and technologies.

Entrepreneurship

Government grant to build a prototype/PoC

Left job to work on my own product

We got a grant of 62k INR under government scheme to build a prototype/PoC of our product. We were a team of 4 and I was the leader and only developer in the team. The project was related to IoT/Automation of railway tracks maintainance with a smart foldable device. I programmed Arduino Mega, NodeMCU, Arduino Uno, various sensors, drivers and actuators. This took around 8 months to build the prototype and we were able to build a working prototype.

Job (continued)

Continued working in Zopte Technologies

Continued the software development journey

I continued working in the Zopte Technologies. I was working on various projects and technologies.

This was all parallel to my college studies

I was doing all these things parallel to my college studies. I was able to manage my time and studies and I was able to get good marks in my college exams too (graduated with 8.0 CGPA).

Full time offer

Until now all this was internship and part time work, but after graduation I got a full time offer from the same company and I accepted it.

Still creating my journey
